How Do I...?

How do I get a library card? 

Adults - Any Kansas resident may obtain a Salina Public Library card at no charge. To be issued a card, present a picture ID with current address at the circulation desk. If your ID does not have your current address, please bring some proof of your address, such as a utility bill.

Children - Parents or guardians must complete an authorization form for a child to get a library card. The child's card may be used in the children's department only. A child may obtain an adult card with parental signature at any time. An adult card may be obtained without parental permission at age 14. Parents/guardians are responsible for materials checked out on their child's card.

You may also apply for a library card online.

Kansas Library Card - Get your Kansas Library Card at the adult reference or youth services desk or contact the reference desk at 825-4624. The Kansas Library Card is free to all Kansas residents.

How do I find my library password?

How do I renew materials?

Library materials may be renewed one time (for the same amount of time as the original checkout), by phone, on the web or in person. 

How do I place a hold?

You may place a hold on items that are checked out by other patrons, that are on the shelves, or that are still being processed at the reference desk, on the library catalog website or by phone.

How do I reserve a computer?

To use a PC in the Technology Center, simply use the self reservation system within the library. Users must have their own adult library card, and their account must be in good standing. This means no outstanding fees over $10 and no long overdue items. Users must use their own library card.

How do I use wireless internet?

Wireless access is available throughout the library building accessible for all users. The east side of the library has non-filtered access and the west side of the library has filtered access. Filtered access on the west side of the library maintains the SSID of splfiltered whereas the east side of the library maintains the SSID of splnonfiltered.

How do I reserve a room?

Make reservations by requesting a room online. You may also call Robyn at 825-4624, ext. 236, for more information or with specific questions. 

How do I volunteer?

If you are interested in joining our volunteer team, you may fill out a volunteer application online or pick one up at the circulation desk. How do I make a donation?

Send your donations to the library at 301 W. Elm, Salina, KS 67401. You may also bring them to the Information Desk at the library.

How do I enroll for a class?

Go to the online calendar to learn search for or enroll in a class.

How do I enroll for a program?

Register online for programs. Search the calendar for the event you would like to register for and complete the registration process.
