21 August 18_ Salina

Dear Parents

I enclose a letter I received from Cousin James Muir sent here but evidently intended for you, also his likeness. We did not get the news of little Bobby's death until Saturday caused by a break in the road. Willie regrets very much that he did not stay another day, but it could have done no good. Folks here are well with the exception of baby. He has had a very hard time with whooping cough for about a week. We did not think she would stand it, but it is a great deal better now and I think well get along all right. [We] are having abundance of rain and land in fine condition for sowing. In a hurry and will have to close. Write soon.

Your son Robert Muir
